Most memorable ultra performance and why: American River 50 Miler, April
2002. Kicked my butt. My 1st 50-mile race. I began to hurt early in the race
after mile 20. Legs where shot from running on the asphalt bike path. The
1st 24 miles were on a bike path that followed the American River. Thought
if I'm hurting this badly after 20 miles I'll be suffering badly after
finishing the 50 miles. It humbled me. Still my PR for 50 Miles (8:09).
Fairly flat course that is why it's my 50 Mile PR. The bad moments of
running races seemed to stay etched in my mind longer than the good moments.
Favorite trail: Captain Jacks Trail System in the Cheyenne Canyon/ Mt.
Almagre/Mt. Rosa area.
Favorite Race: Western States 100
