Tony Krupicka

Team CRUD Nickname: Naked Guy (Tarzan, according to Jenn Shelton)

Date of Birth: August 2, 1983

Place of Birth: Niobrara, NE

Job: Writing Tutor at Colorado College

Marital Status: Single

Children: 0

Pets: 0

Favorite non-running magazine: TIME

Favorite movie: Fight Club

Favorite television show: Don't watch

Favorite musical performer: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Tapes 'n Tapes

Favorite Keith excuse for a sucky race: I don't get it; Keith seems like a nice enough guy…

Favorite Erik Solof Quote: Don't have the pleasure of having met.

Craziest place you ever took a dump while on a run: In a dumpster in the middle of a parking lot in Tempe, AZ just off of ASU's campus at 6:30am. It was one of the most degrading experiences of my life, but there was absolutely no place else to offer me any cover.

Hobbies: Eating ice cream, plotting the decline of the Industrial Revolution, running footwear modification and construction, existential and radical green philosophy

Favorite non-running sport: Politics and Horseshoes

Favorite famous quote: "What's the difference between God and the Lone Ranger? There really is a Lone Ranger." ---George Washington Hayduke

Short-term running goal: How short? 2007 season? Break Grand Canyon R2R2R Record. Get into Western States (finish top-3, sub 5:50 at AR50). Break CR at Zane Grey 50. Defend at LT100. Get selected for the World 100K Championships.

Long-term running goal: Win all of the Grand Slam 100s…in the same season. LT100 course record. Western States 100 course record. Sub-13hr at Rocky Raccoon 100. Abolition of motor vehicles. General World Domination.

Ultra Pet Peeves: Race directors refusing to make any concessions to top runners concerning race entry. I'll pay the full fee! Just let me into the race later than 6 months in advance!

Years running ultras: 1ish

Number of ultras finished: 3

Most memorable ultra performance and why: My first 100 miler, Leadville 2006. I was always curious as to what happens on the far side of 50 miles, and I found out: weird, neon-green shit.

Favorite trail: Paintbrush Canyon/Cascade Canyon Loop in the Tetons. Jones Park/666/Balls-to-the-Wall/El Diablo Trail here in the Colorado Springs area.

Favorite Race: Leadville Trail 100 I guess, but I haven't run too many yet. I could see a race being better (i.e., an all- or almost-all-trails, mountain 100 miler).
